The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) were invited to bring their children for the demonstrations.
Traffic safety was the topic of this event and the different vehicles FHP utilizes toward this goal were on display with troopers available to demonstrate and explain their specific use. Sergeant James Durden talked about the TRT’s armored Vehicle and Command Post Bus, Trooper Luis Tejera displayed his Camaro patrol car, and Trooper Michael Valdez displayed his FHP motorcycle. K-9 Trooper Mark Reitman was also on hand to demonstrate his partner K-9 “Duke”.
