Road Rage Leads to Arrest
Recently, the Tampa Bay Regional Communications Center received a call from a motorist regarding a 2003 Lexus Coupe that was cutting in and out of traffic and driving in an aggressive manner. The caller advised that the driver of the Lexus pointed a gun at him and sped off north bound on I-75. Trooper Henry Cichoski, not too far away, quickly responded to the call and located the Lexus.
Once backup from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office arrived, Trooper Cichoski conducted a felony stop and secured the occupants of the vehicle. After an interview with the driver and passenger and a subsequent search of the vehicle, a gun was found that matched the description provided by the victim.
Trooper Cichoski arrested the suspect for aggravated assault with a firearm and transported him to the Hernando County Jail where he was held on $7000 bond.
