FHP’s BOI Makes Arrest
Lt. Bobby Collins of the Florida Highway Patrol’s Central Region Bureau of Investigations, has concluded a six-month Organized Fraud and Identity Theft investigation. As a result of the investigation, seven subjects were identified as willing participants of an organized scheme to defraud.
The primary victim of this case was Captain Sterling King of the Florida Highway Patrol-Orlando. Various elements and activities of this overall scheme to defraud occurred in several jurisdictions, covered seven central Florida counties, and involved several area merchants. The value of merchandise obtained as a result of the suspects’ fraudulent practices exceeded $50,000.
Lt. Collins, and Tom Sadaka, Office of the Attorney General Statewide Prosecutor, applied for and obtained Warrants for the seven subjects that were identified via the investigation. The Central Region Bureau of Investigations along with members of Troop C-Lakeland executed the arrest warrants and the subjects were all arrested and charged.
Lieutenant Antonio Bartolome, Lieutenant Bill Shiver, Sergeant John Williams, Trooper Jorge Diaz, Trooper Wooster Woodward, and Troop C Personnel assisted Lt. Collins in the investigation and subsequent arrests. FHP thanks and commends these troopers for a job well done!
