FHP’s Sergeant Kevin Blom and Corporal Richard Davis, Jr. teamed up with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, initially as a search & rescue effort, but eventually as a search & recovery ordeal.

The driver’s body was recovered from the river a few days after the crash. FHP investigators believe that if she been wearing her seat belt, she would not have been ejected from her car, and probably would not have been seriously injured.
