CIP Strikes Again!

Contraband Intradiction Logo.Recently Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Jason Lemery, of the Contraband Interdiction Program (CIP) – Team C-3, while on routine patrol in Sumter County, stopped a late model Mercury sedan for a window tint violation. During the course of the traffic stop, the driver and sole occupant was extremely nervous and Trooper Lemery detected a very strong fragrance coming from the vehicle.

Trooper Jimmie Davis, also a CIP Trooper and a member of Team C-3, was called for backup. He arrived on the scene with K-9 Jewels who alerted to the vehicle. A search revealed approximately ten pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. The subject was arrested and booked into the Sumter County Jail.

The FHP Contraband Interdiction Program helps keep drugs off the highways of Florida. Keep up the good work, Team C-3!
