Child Safety Day in Springhill
Trooper Leslie Weber and Crash Dummies Vince & Larry helped out the Hernando County AAA, when they hosted the annual Child Safety Day in Spring Hill. At the event, which included representatives from many local businesses and central Florida attractions, Trooper Weber displayed an FHP patrol car. She spoke with hundreds of children and their families promoting child restraint and seat belt use and stressing the importance of safe driving.

Trooper Weber, a mother of twin girls, knows first hand the risks associated with transporting children and offered expert advice on Florida’s seat belt and child restraint laws. During the event, Trooper Weber fingerprinted many children and provided the prints along with child safety information to their parents.

Crash Dummies Vince & Larry were a big hit–always showing motorists that you really can learn something from a dummy! Vince looked a little uncomfortable in the back of Trooper Weber’s patrol car, and encouraged those in attendance to do the right thing – don’t break the law, and stay out of the back seat of the cruiser!
