Lieutenants Tommy Moore, Mike Thomas and Pat Santangelo, Sergeant Bert Matlock, and Troopers Scott Morse and Eric Barrow represented the Florida Highway Patrol at many of the events. Lieutenants Moore and Santangelo escorted families of police survivors on a special tour of Washington sponsored by the National Troopers Coalition. Troopers Morse and Barrow drove an FHP patrol car up to Washington to participate in a special parade of police vehicles from around the country.

Lieutenant Moore has been involved in National Police Week for several years and volunteered for many assignments to assist families of fallen police officers. All five Troopers attended the Candlelight Vigil held on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday, our Florida troopers visited members of Congress where they were very warmly received. On the final day, the troopers attended the Memorial Service to remember those who sacrificed their lives for their fellow man, and to hear the poignant words of the Police Memorial’s keynote speaker, President George W. Bush.
