While working a Hireback detail at the Lake Worth Service Plaza, Trooper Hardley responded to a call of a possible suicide attempt on a Turnpike overpass. After observing a man attempting to jump from the overpass, Trooper Hardley scaled the median, ran through rush hour traffic, moved behind the man, and pulled him from the wall to the ground. He then calmed the subject, and took him into protective custody. The subject was released to a mental health facility under the Baker Act.

For Trooper Kurt Hardley’s quick actions, he was recognized and honored by the local law enforcement community.
