FHP Helps With School Food Drive

FHP recruits and students from Sabal Palm in For the past eight years, Sabal Palm Elementary School in Tallahassee, has held a Thanksgiving food drive to collect canned goods and other non-perishable items for needy families whose children attend their local school. Usually, the food drive is a school-based activity.

However, this year, according to Nancy Stokely, Principal of the school, they decided to ask the community to get involved as well. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the request with boxes and bags of food they collected for local needy families!

Last week, FHP recruits from the Academy met with students from Sabal Palm Elementary to deliver the food, which will be used to fill fifteen Thanksgiving Day gift baskets for selected families in the local area.
