FHP Checks Out FATS

Troop G members receive training on the FATS System.FHP Staff and firearms instructors from Troop G were recently given a demonstration of the FATS (Fire Arms Training System) CST200D Trainer at Troop Headquarters in Jacksonville. The area HIDTA organization is looking into possibly purchasing the program for FHP’s Northeast Florida Law Enforcement Training Center at Cecil Field.

The FATS system, which allows firearms training in a classroom environment, can improve law enforcement officers’ shooting abilities and correct some of the more common mistakes that some officers have when it comes to firearms qualification. Not only does the training provide basic qualification videos, but offers street scene scenarios, which allow for more realistic training using life-like situations.

All FHP staff in attendance at this demonstration were highly impressed with the FATS System.
