Campaign Kicks Off in West Palm Beach

Over one hundred law enforcement officers from fifty different agencies attended the annual Click It or Ticket Press Conference to kick off the campaign in Palm Beach County last week. The campaign, which runs May 19-June 1, 2003, is a period of heightened enforcement of Florida’s seat belt and child restraint laws.

During the next two-weeks, law enforcement officers all across the state, pledge to be extra vigilant in encouraging motorists to buckle up, and to give tickets to those who don’t follow the law. The focus of the campaign is not to write tickets, but to save lives. However, if motorists refuse to obey Florida’s seat belt law, they can expect to pay the price. The Florida Highway Patrol, which has a zero tolerance policy regarding seat belt and child restraint use, will be on the road in force to ensure motorists comply with the law.
