Troop A Headquarters Dedicated
The Florida Highway Patrol’s new Troop A Headquarters facility in Bay County was officially opened on Wednesday, October 23, 2002. Major Randy Brown, Troop A Commander, served as Master of Ceremonies for the event.
State Representative Allan G. Bense, a key supporter of the Florida Highway Patrol, was instrumental in obtaining the funding necessary to construct the 15,000 square foot facility that sits on 5 acres just off State Road 231 north of Panama City. Representative Bense was the featured speaker for the event. Gulf Coast Community College President Bob McSpadden, and several officials from St. Joe Paper Company, were also recognized for their tireless work to make the new facility a reality.
Fred Dickinson, Executive Director of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and Colonel Chris Knight were also on hand to recognize and thank the many dedicated individuals in Troop A who helped organize the dedication ceremony.
