Green Makes Significant Drug Arrest
On Friday, May 10, 2002, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Trooper Ronald Green, Troop G, Jacksonville, was on patrol on Interstate 95, northbound at Interstate 10, when he observed a 2002 white Buick with a Florida tag weaving through traffic at an excessive speed.
Trooper Green was able to obtain a pace clock on the vehicle at 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. After stopping the vehicle the driver was found to have a suspended driver license and was in possession of counterfeit identification cards. After placing the driver under arrest, consent to search the rental vehicle was obtained from the passenger of the vehicle. Trooper Green located two large duffle bags in the trunk, which contained over 32 pounds of marijuana enclosed in heat sealed bags.
The driver and passenger, coming from Miami enroute to New York, were arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana and booked into the Duval County jail.
