Great American Teach In!
The Great American Teach In is an opportunity to give elementary and middle school students real life insights into the world of work and careers and to reinforce the importance of education for success in any occupation.

The annual event is the product of combined efforts of the Hillsborough Education Foundation, local businesses, and leading educators in the community.
This event, initiated in 1990 in the Tampa Bay area, invites members of law enforcement agencies like FHP, hospital personnel such as nurses and technicians, local television and radio station personalities, and professional sports figures from teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Lightning and the Devil Rays, to participate. All participants in this worthy endeavor spend hours in the classrooms of area schools talking with students about their own jobs, career challenges, educational preparation, and personal life experiences. The goal is to provide these kids with real life examples of people who are making a difference in their communities, and to help motivate them to stay in school, get a good education, and to prepare themselves for their future.
Participating in this year’s Great American Teach In were several FHP members from Troop C, including Lt. Sterling King, and Troopers Reggie Edwards, Daniel Cruz, Christian Pimental, and James Fitchett.
