FHP Seizes 13 Pounds of Cocaine

seized cocaineOn October 24, 2002, Trooper Jason Lemery stopped a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria for unlawful speed and a window tint violation on Interstate 10 in Jefferson County. The driver informed Trooper Lemery that he was traveling from Brownsville, Texas to Bradenton, Florida. The driver was extremely nervous.

Trooper Jimmy Davis utilized K9 “York” to conduct a drug sniff of the vehicle. Subsequent to a positive K9 alert, a search of the vehicle indicated that cocaine packages were concealed inside both side rocker panels of the vehicle. Both front tires were removed to give access to the opening at the front of the rocker panels. A total of 13 pounds of cocaine was seized. The driver was arrested on several felony drug violations.
