Members of Florida Highway Patrol throughout the state are generally the lead agency responsible for the safe transportation of Presidential and Vice Presidential motorcades. FHP personnel are also called on to provide dignitary protection to other visiting heads of state. The United States Secret Service generally calls on FHP’s uniformed members and marked vehicles to handle the motorcades. This task, along with many others, is just one of the responsibilities assigned to members of the Florida Highway Patrol.
