Another Trooper Called to Active Duty
Trooper Elias Sanchez, Troop L, Davie, a recent graduate of the Florida Highway Patrol’s 100th recruit class, has been recalled to active military duty. Trooper Sanchez, who serves in the United States Army Reserve, will be assigned to the 724th Military Police Company and sent to Northern Kuwait.
Trooper Sanchez is scheduled for deployment on November 15, 2002. Prior to joining the FHP, Trooper Sanchez retired from the New York City Police Department with 16 years of service. We wish him a safe mission and a quick return.
A total of 19 members of the Florida Highway Patrol have been called to active duty since September 11, 2001, in support of America’s “Operation Enduring Freedom.” Seven (7) troopers and supervisors remain on active duty.
