102nd Recruit Class Graduation

Recruits are sworn inThirty-nine (39) Florida Highway Patrol troopers and four (4) Department of Transportation Motor Carrier Compliance officers graduated from the FHP Training Academy on September 26, 2002. The 102nd Basic Recruit Class began on April 1, 2002.

The graduation ceremony, conducted by Colonel Christopher Knight, was held at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center. The Honorable William N. “Willie” Meggs, State Attorney for Florida’s 2nd Judicial Circuit, was the commencement speaker for the event. The 2nd Judicial Circuit includes Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, and Wakulla counties.

Also participating in the graduation was Mr. Fred Dickinson, Executive Director of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and Colonel Graham Fountain, Director of the Florida Department of Transportation’s Motor Carrier Compliance Office.
