Trooper Kim Miller Wins National Award

Trooper MillerTrooper Kim Miller was named one of Eckerd’s Top 100 Women in the Nation on September 24, 2001. Miller was selected from 2600 nominees nationwide, to make up this years list of “Eckerd 100” which celebrates women’s roles in the community.

The Junior Women’s Club in Brevard County nominated Trooper Miller for her devotion to child passenger safety and to the Florida Highway Patrol. Because of Miller’s successes with the FHP occupant protection program, four (4) additional occupant protection specialist positions are in the process of being funded in Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami, and West Palm Beach through a grant provided by the Florida Department of Transportation’s State Safety Office.

Trooper Miller received her award in St. Petersburg on October 5th at a special symposium and awards ceremony. She will also receive a check from Eckerd’s for $1000 for the charity of her choice. She has elected to purchase a number of booster seats to be given to families in Central Florida who cannot afford them.

GOOD WORK KIM!!
