Mr. John P. (J.P.) Hall, Jr. (1930-2000)

Mr. HallColonel Charles C. Hall is saddened to announce the death of Mr. J.P. Hall, Jr., President of the FHP Advisory Council and longtime active supporter of the Florida Highway Patrol.

Mr. Hall died on Saturday, July 15th in Orange Park, Florida, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Hall, a Charter Member of the FHP Advisory Council, was appointed President of the Council by Colonel Hall.

The FHP Advisory Council is comprised of an outstanding group of private citizens, businessmen and professionals who have joined together to provide voluntary time and expertise for the support and recognition of the men and women of the Florida Highway Patrol.

Mr. Hall was a graduate of the FBI National Academy and at one time served as Chief Deputy of Clay County. In addition to his role as President of the FHP Advisory Council, Mr. Hall was a member of numerous other organizations throughout Florida and gave his all to each and every one. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Ida, his children Cindy Schmitzer, Virginia Steinmetz, John Hall, Lyman Hall, Jarrod Beach, and his sister, Deana Mae Lemen.

The men and women of the FHP will greatly miss “J.P.” and wish to extend their condolences and sincere sympathies to his family.
