Carroll Dickerson named Deputy Director of FHPA
Colonel Charles C. Hall, left, is shown presenting Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary Chief Carroll Dickerson his new Lieutenant Colonel’s badge after naming Dickerson Lieutenant Colonel/Deputy Commander of the organization, effective July 17, 2000.
Lieutenant Colonel Dickerson joined the FHP Auxiliary in 1980 in Deland and became the Unit Commander of the largest local Auxiliary unit in the state, with 34 members. The Deland unit under his leadership has consistently led the state with the highest number of volunteer hours. His organizational talents were soon recognized and his leadership skills brought him up through the ranks to his most recent promotion of Deputy Commander.
“Lieutenant Colonel Dickerson is a tremendous asset to this agency and the Auxiliary,” said Colonel Hall. “Our Auxiliary volunteers are the true unsung heroes of this agency and law enforcement. We have relied on them for critical staffing for many years and they have always responded in the professional and dedicated fashion for which the FHP is noted,” Hall added.
Dickerson is a retired Martin-Marietta employee and devoted over 3000 hours to the Florida Highway Patrol in 1999 alone. He will maintain his office at the Deland FHP Station.
Congratulations to Lieutenant Colonel Dickerson on a well-deserved promotion!
