Subject: Temporary Disabled Person Parking Permits For Out of State Residents

Advisory Date: 9/15/10 Implementation Date: Immediately

Advisory Number: R10-06

Based on a recent review of our Disabled Person Parking procedure (RS-38), the department has determined that out of state residents may obtain a temporary disabled person parking permit.

Effective immediately, you may process temporary disabled parking permit applications for out of state residents similar to the way you process these transactions for out of country residents. We will develop programming for this specific type of transaction in the future. Until then, however, please follow these steps:

Enter “NONUS” in the certifying physician field since an out of state resident will not have an out of country parking permit to photocopy.

Enter the certification authority number in the comments field.

Look for a revision to procedure RS-38 soon, which will include this information.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the Field Support Center.
