A FRVIS Patch is scheduled to be downloaded on February 12, 2008.  Included in this patch are the designation of “Print Electronic Title” printed on the face of the title and “Scan Renewals.”

When an electronic lienholder satisfies the ELT lien, the title will remain in an electronic status.  When a request for the title to be printed is processed, the title will continue to show the issue date as the date the title was actually transferred to the current owner.  The title will also show “Electronic Title Prior To (date title is printed).”  An indication that the title was previously electronic will assist in verifying that the title was unavailable at the time a secure power of attorney is completed.

With the option of renewing annually or biennially, the department has enhanced the Scan Renewal transaction.  In the department’s efforts to reduce key strokes when possible, the F3 button has been disabled in this transaction.

In order to process a Scan Renewal you will go to Registration, Renewal, and Scanner.  The renewal postcard will be scanned at that time.  When FRVIS detects the scan, the cursor will be in a drop down box.  The clerk has the options of using the drop down to select annual or biennial registration or entering “A” for annual or “B” for biennial.  Once annual or biennial has been selected, the transaction is complete.
