Troop A Headquarters is currently located in Panama City, commanded by Major Warren Fast. Troop A consists of the ten most western counties of the Florida Panhandle: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun, and Gulf.

Troop A is separated into two districts: Panama City and Pensacola. The Panama City District, commanded by Captain Robert Ifft, covers Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun and Gulf counties. The Pensacola District, commanded by Captain Eddie Elmore, covers Escambia, Santa Rosa Okaloosa and Walton counties.

Troop A is very diverse, covering everything from farms to woodlands in large rural areas, to beaches along the coastline in the small and larger cities. There are also several military installations and bases ranging from Pensacola to Panama City. There are currently 124 sworn and 8 non-sworn positions dedicated to serving the citizens and visitors to Troop A.
