NOW ACCEPTING CREDIT CARDS
-Making Changes that Matter to You!-

TALLAHASSEE-- Effective immediately, driver license offices operated by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles throughout the state will be accepting credit cards! The cards accepted will include MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

This new feature will improve service levels by providing customers with another method of payment. There will be a $1 convenience fee for each credit card transaction.

“Many people no longer carry checkbooks or cash with them because credit cards have become so popular and convenient. Making this new payment option available to our customers is just another way we are ‘Making Changes that Matter to You,’” said Division of Driver Licenses Director Sandra Lambert.

The ability to use credit cards is part of the Department’s strategic approach to meeting customer needs. This new initiative enhances the quality of our service and helps support our mission of providing highway safety through the licensing process.

We encourage all our customers to avoid the trip to one of our offices altogether by visiting www.GoRenew.com, and utilizing our many on-line services. From the convenience of your home or office, 24 hours a day, our customers can renew their driver licenses, identifications cards, vehicle tags and change their addresses. In the event that a trip to an office is required, we encourage our customers to schedule an appointment using our website www.flhsmv.gov, or by calling their local office.
