Fourth of July Travel
Statistics show the fourth of July to be the deadliest traffic day, and the Florida Highway Patrol will be out on the roadways working to keep everyone safe this holiday. Public Affairs Officer for the Florida highway patrol, Lieutenant Mike Burroughs says everyone on the road need to be wearing their seat belts because the F-H-P will be out in large numbers. The fourth of July is the deadliest traffic day due to the number of impaired drivers out on the roads. The Florida Highway Patrol is asking motorists to report drivers who are driving aggressively or impaired by dialing star F-H-P. Lieutenant Burroughs says there are alternatives for the impaired driver this holiday. The Florida Highway Patrol is prepared for the holiday and urges people to buckle up, drive the speed limit, and have a safe fourth of July.
