Road Update
If you travelled on Interstates 75 and 10 this weekend, your trip may have been a lot longer, due to all the road closures. Officials are now allowing motorists to travel on the interstate corridor in the Lake City area. However, they can expect frequent road closures if fire conditions don't improve. After the front moves through and winds die down, we will probably have more smoke problems on Interstates 75 and 10. Spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol, Mike Burroughs, says that motorists' safety is their key concern during dangerous conditions. One of the most common things motorists do when they are in an area of low visibility , is panic. Burroughs gives us some advice on what do in such a situation. Burroughs wants motorists to be aware that even though conditions may not look bad to them, there is a lot going on behind the scenes. And they should always pay attention to official warnings.
