Drugs found during search
Two New Mexico residents were arrested early Wednesday morning when a Florida Highway Patrol trooper found Psilocybin, or “magic,” mushrooms and other narcotics in their vehicle, according to authorities.
Jefferson A. Drumm, 26, and Terina M. Drumm, 22, both from Santa Fe, N.M., were arrested and charged with felony possession of cannabis, felon possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were booked into the Columbia County Jail after authorities seized 48 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms and more than 100 grams of cannabis from the couple's vehicle.
Reports state the Drumms were traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 90 at approximately 10:45 a.m. Wednesday when Trooper Daniel C. Caulk stopped them near Faith Road for a cracked windshield.
Reports state that Caulk, who is a contraband interdiction officer, noticed what he believed to be the hallucinogenic Psilocybin mushrooms in their vehicle and called for backup. Trooper Mike Jordan, a contraband interdiction K-9 officer, arrived on the scene with his K-9, Z.
The dog alerted the troopers to the presence of narcotics in the 2000 Toyota car, and after a brief search, the officers located 32 grams of mushrooms in the car and almost 7 grams of cannabis in the glove box.
Further search of the vehicle revealed 111.2 grams of cannabis hidden in a jar in the spare tire well, as well as another 16 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms concealed in a baggie in one of Terina Drumm's boots.
