Childen can get state-issued identification cards for $3

Florida Highway Patrol launched a new program Sunday to give children identification cards.

About 200 children, as young as five-years-old, took their picture for their first ID card at a kickoff event on Sunday.

''This will allow authorities to perform a speedy search for missing children,'' Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Pat Santangelo said.

Parents can take their children to any drivers license office to obtain an identification card. The cost is $3.
