Dear Road Wise:
I am a transplanted New Yorker. I have been in Florida for 21 years (16 of them in O-town). I love Florida. I consider it home. But I would much rather drive in New York any day! I have noticed that down here people drive in the left lane on major highways, and they will not move over to let you pass. It is irritating and very unsafe.
JOANN REYNOLDS

Dear Joann:
Kim Miller of the Florida Highway Patrol said that although people should obey speed limits, the law also states that drivers who are going slower than the normal speed must move to the right, even if you're doing the posted speed limit. "If you're in the left lane and people are passing you, you're in the wrong," Miller said. Also, there's no need to provoke someone into road rage by claiming a spot in the left lane when aggressive drivers want to pass. Her advice: Just get out of the way and let the troopers catch the speeders.
