Speedway Parking
Illegally parking in handicap spots could cost you $1,000 or 1 year in jail.
After what they call a successful pilot program during the Pepsi 400 weekend last year, Daytona International Speedway will bring back the policy of cracking down on people illegally parking in designated handicap spots during events for Speedweeks.
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol, along with local officers, will be guarding the entrances of all lots for disabled parking only allowing access to those with the proper badges and stickers.
Unlawful use of a parking permit is a 2nd degree misdemeanor, with a $1,000 fine or 1 year in jail.
