Sapp Sentenced to 30 Years

A man found guilty of running over a Florida trooper will spend at least 30 years in jail. Judge Kathleen Dekker handed down the sentence.

In April, Florida troopers pulled over Theron Sapp for speeding. After a chase he hit one of the troopers with his car and narrowly missed the other.

Sapp disagrees with charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery, charges responsible for most of his jail time.

Theron Sapp said, "In this case there's some things I did and some things I didn't do. The most serious charges they had me charged with, I didn't do those charges."

Sapp could face an additional 10 years behind bars for earlier convictions. His lawyer says Sapp plans to file an appeal.
