Driver collides with parked tow truck, FHP trooper on I-95
A 32-year-old Miami woman was seriously injured when she crashed into a parked tow truck on Interstate 95 early Sunday morning, state troopers said.
Beverly Phybulle was driving south on the interstate just north of Gateway Boulevard about 1:30 a.m. when she drove into a section of the road that was barricaded and closed for construction, said Lt. David T. Frith.
Tow truck driver Andrew Norisma and Trooper Robert Dooley, 22, were stopped there to attend to a disabled vehicle, Frith said. Phybulle's car collided with the tow truck's rear and sideswiped Dooley's patrol car, Frith said.
The tow truck struck Dooley and knocked him onto the disabled vehicle, Frith said. Dooley's injuries were minor and Norisma was not hit, Frith said.
Phybulle was listed in critical condition at Delray Medical Center. Charges against Phybulle are pending, Frith said.
