In Memory of Sergeant Virginia “V.J.” Johnson
We sincerely regret the passing of Sergeant Virginia “V.J.” Johnson, a 26-year veteran of the Florida Highway Patrol. For the
past eight years, Sgt. Johnson served at the FHP
Academy where he worked closely with other academy staff to ensure a solid training environment. He spent countless hours at the
academy working with recruits during physical training along with classroom instruction and serving as assistant statewide FTO Coordinator,
maintaining field-training records for all recruit graduates, reviewing records to ensure that they were accurate, complete and timely. Sgt.
Johnson continued to work hard despite his illness, helping to ensure that our agency’s training needs and requirements were met. Sgt. V.J.
Johnson will be greatly missed by his FHP family.
