Since 1981, I have been challenged and rewarded as a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper. Now, you have an opportunity to join the most professional law enforcement agency in the Sunshine State, the Florida Highway Patrol. We are currently engaged in an extensive recruitment campaign to locate, train, and equip the most highly qualified individuals to serve Florida's residents and visitors as a State Trooper.
A Florida Highway Patrol Trooper is a special individual. A trooper must be prepared to confront dangerous and violent criminals, respond to fatal and serious injury vehicle crashes, issue citations to irate motorists, interdict drugs being transported over our highway system, and spend days away from home assisting at the scene of a natural disaster. Also, a trooper must be ready to give free child safety seats to needy parents, help an elderly couple change a tire, direct visitors to our many attractions, and be willing to bring meaning to the Patrol's motto:

"Courtesy, Service, Protection"

Every day, our troopers face and meet these challenges. And, every day, our troopers reap the rewards of meeting these challenges.
