Two veteran Florida Highway Patrol officers have been promoted to major. Anthony "Tony" Allen will continue to serve the FHP's Office of Dignitary Protection, where he has been assigned to Lt. Gov. Frank Brogan since 1999. Mark Trammell will take command of Tallahassee-based Troop H, where he will oversee the daily operations of the FHP in eight counties. Allen began his career with FHP in 1987 and also has served in Fort Lauderdale and Miami and as a training officer for the FHP Training Academy. Trammell began his career with FHP in 1973 and also has served in Rockledge and Miami. He has been assistant chief training officer at the academy and FHP auxiliary coordinator and has worked with the Office of Inspections and Bureau of Investigations.
