Florida Highway Patrol troopers are asking residents to be wary of a solicitation scam that claims to collect money for a law enforcement cause.
Troopers said the solicitors say they represent the American Association of State Troopers, and they ask for a donation to aid in the purchase of teddy bears that troopers will give to children traumatized in vehicle crashes.
Anyone contacted by this or a similar group is asked to gather as much information as possible, then call Lt. Tom Moore at 484-5000, Ext. 103.
