Putting their life on the line

Letter to the Editor:

I hope and pray that you will take the time to print my letter. I would like to make a comment about the article that you had in Wednesday's paper about the Florida Highway Patrol stepping up patrolling for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

I know that people don't stop and realize that they don't get the credit that they so richly deserve. But they put their life on the line each and every time they go to work.

I know that I have had experiences that I thank God that they were close so that they could help me. I know also that we have laws on the books that need to be revised, because they state that once you're guilty of something, that you are always guilty.

I really thank God that they are out like they are, but there are areas that they need to step up patrolling because I see close to me that drink and drive every day. And Nov. 22 I was also hit by a driver that was drunk.

I'm disabled and ride a scooter to get around because I can't walk. I can say that overall I pray every day that God will ride with all of the men and women in uniform every time they go out.

I wish to say one thing and that is I hold the highest respect for all of you. May God keep all of you safe. Thank you.
