While the wind and the rain drove most people under cover, a few people just had to get out for some fresh air. Broward Sheriff's Office Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Dave Erdman spent Saturday touring the county, and while the streets were usually clear, "I've seen people on scooters and bikes."
Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Roger Reyes said he saw a driver doing 80 mph on Interstate 595. The weather didn't stop the motorist, so the lieutenant did it himself.
"There is no need to be on the interstate or roadways now," Reyes said. "Please, please, please stay off the roadways for your safety."
