FHP troopers enforcing commercial vehicle laws

ST. LUCIE COUNTY- Florida Highway Patrol troopers will be patrolling today and Friday looking for commercial vehicles that are breaking traffic laws.

The patrols are part of Operation Safe Ride, an ongoing statewide program designed to reduce unsafe driving. Troopers previously focused on aggressive driving and road rage during two days of patrols in February, according to FHP.

Troopers around the state will be looking for commercial vehicles that are speeding, tailgating, changing lanes improperly and break other traffic laws. The patrols come after complaints from the public about commercial vehicles and a number of accidents involving large trucks, according to FHP.

All available troopers, including supervisors, will be participating in the patrols.
