Man, 23, accused in I-95 'gang' shooting

Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrested a 23-year-old Palm Coast man accused of shooting a man on Interstate 95 in Daytona Beach over the weekend in what officials called a gang-related attack.

Tryshane Houstan was charged with attempted murder, shooting into a vehicle, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the shooting Sunday of Saravy Khim, 23, of Palm Coast.

Khim was shot in the back while driving north on I-95 near LPGA Boulevard at 5:13 p.m., troopers said. He was taken to Halifax Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Shortly after the shooting was reported, Flagler County sheriff's deputies stopped a sport utility vehicle that matched a description given to troopers. Houstan was in the vehicle that was stopped on State Road 100, along with three others who were arrested on assorted charges, troopers said.

According to investigators, Khim was shot as both vehicles traveled north on the interstate.Trooper Stephanie McNeese, who led the investigation, made the arrests and confiscated three firearms, 61 grams of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine. Houstan was booked into the Flagler County jail on eight separate charges with bail set at $100,000. He also faces a drug charge levied by Flagler County.
