Two days after a UF student was struck and killed by a car, the Florida Highway Patrol is urging drivers to watch out for pedestrians.
FHP public information officer Mike Burroughs says Gainesville has plenty of people walking or riding bikes, so drivers should be extra careful.
He also has tips for the pedestrians. He says they should always wear bright clothing and walk facing traffic.
Burroughs says one of the best things you can do is use common sense.
