Letter to the Editor: Stay safe on the road

Thanks to the Florida Highway Patrol for its "Operation Safe Ride," which focused on the ruthless, arrogant, offensive and aggressive drivers on Florida's roadways.

I ride a motorcycle to work each and every day on I-275 between St. Petersburg and Tampa. I can't tell you how many aggressive drivers consistently run me off the road, try to share my traffic lane, run up on my tail or just turn in front of me.

My personal thanks goes to the FHP troopers who issued citations to these potential killers. Many aggressive motorists have no concept of what a traumatic impact can do to the human body. Aggressive driving also initiates "road rage." Let's be safe and survive.
