Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the intersection of U.S. 19 and U.S. 98 is one of the most dangerous intersections in Citrus County.
FHP troopers say in the past few months, two fatal crashes have occurred at the intersection. Now that a major road-widening project is underway there, drivers are wondering when the situation will take a turn for the better.
Right now, there is only a blinking light intersection, but after reviewing traffic volume and accident history, the DOT decided to install a fully functional traffic signal, which should be operational by April.
