Florida Highway Patrol troopers cited 663 motorists for driving aggressively and 4,748 others for speeding during a two-day, statewide program aimed at cracking down on aggressive drivers, the agency said Monday.
Troopers arrested 55 people for drunken driving, the FHP said. Motorists were also cited for other violations.
The campaign, called "Operation Safe Ride," was held Thursday and Friday, and troopers in all of FHP's 10 troops took part.
In Broward County, where a similar aggressive driving campaign was started in January, troopers cited 92 people for aggressive driving and 642 others for speeding, the FHP said.
