The Florida Highway Patrol begins an intensified traffic detail Wednesday called Operation Safe Journey on Interstate 75 and U.S. 41 from the Collier County/Broward County line within Collier County.
The program will target motorists driving under the influence, driving aggressively, speeding, making hazardous moving violations and failing to move over.
The operation begins at 2 p.m. and will conclude on Thursday at 8 p.m. An FHP aircraft will also take part in the operation, specifically targeting speeders.
