To commander FHP:
Today I was traveling on I 10 west about a mile east of Marianna when I had a blow out on my truck -while pulling my boat to start our family vacation. We were stranded because the spare would not fit. Officer cox came up about that time and immediately began to assist us. He suggested that he take us in his cruiser with the two tires and rims. So he loaded them in the backseat and took us off to get the situation rectified at the Wal-mart. Once there he inquired about getting us a ride back to the truck once tire was fixed, but no one was available. So officer Cox waited with me even though he had another appointment to get to. Once the tire was mounted he loaded us back into his patrol car and took us back to my disabled truck. Once there he waited and made sure the tire/rim fit before resuming his trip to his appointment.
My 12 year old son was with me today and witnessed officer Cox's handling of our situation. He saw a great example of a law enforcement officer going well beyond the call of duty to help a stranded citizen. I am sure this will help shape his perception of law enforcement officers for years to come.
Please pass on my thanks to this fine officer.
