On Sunday, May 22, I was on my way to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce along State Road 70 and was very upset due to my brother being in critical condition. I am his health care surrogate and was preparing myself to make some very difficult decisions. I was not paying close attention to the speed of the vehicle I was driving, and I had the opportunity to be introduced to one of your State Troopers, Mr. Ted Willis. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how courteous Trooper Willis handled my situation. He could tell I was extremely upset and handled the matter with much compassion and common sense. I myself work in government and know all too well how much the ‘good’ our employee’s due rarely gets published, yet all the bad gets more than sufficient attention. I wanted to make contact with his superiors and I hope this email will be forwarded to the correct persons so they too will know how grateful I am to have come across a state employee who conducted himself so professionally. He is truly an asset to the Florida Highway Patrol.
