I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the unidentified motorcycle officer that assisted me today at approximately 9am this morning. I was at the intersection of US 1 and 312 when a tiny kitten was out in the middle of traffic. Unfortunately another unidentified driver elected not to give me five more seconds to safely retrieve the kitten before going about his day and actually ran him over two feet in front of me, missing me by a fraction of an inch. I scooped up the kitten as it was still alive however I have very serious health conditions myself and was very upset and shaken. Traffic began to move again and I drove up US 1 another block and saw this officer with a pulled over pick up. He immediately came to my assistance and even was nice enough to escort me to the nearby vet. Unfortunately the little kitten barley three weeks old did not make it but he did not suffer long thanks to the officer as I did not know where to even take it and again was very shaken at the disgusting behavior of this unidentified driver. Before I could go back out to thank the officer, he was gone. If this ever makes it to him, please tell him thank you for me. His small gesture and assistance was above and beyond duty and made a very difficult morning much easier. Thank you, Beth Smith
