I am writing this note to compliment a highway patrolman that came to the rescue of my husband and I on Interstate 75 South on July 27, 2010. We were driving to Tampa when we had a blowout of our left front tire. This would have probably been a little easier to handle if we had not been in 38 foot motorhome. My husband was able to move the vehicle to the left, since moving to the right was not possible with traffic. We called our Good Sam's emergency and they stated for us to also contact the state trooper's office. After contacting the office they patched us to the Florida Highway Patrol within minutes a kind officer pulled up behind us. Officer Jovan Murphy #2944, first checked to see if we were okay then assessed the situation; he reassured my husband that he made the right decision in not trying to move a disabled vehicle across traffic.
Officer Murphy stated he would stay with us until road service came to replace the tire. Inspite of the 100 degree heat Officer Murphy stood and talked to my husband going occasionally to check with the wrecker truck for their ETA. We were so relieved to have Officer Murphy their to help us through this experience. I commend the Florida Highway Patrol for recruiting young men that are committed to service. It is not often that you meet someone who is willing to provide the level of service that was displayed by Officer Murphy.
We would like to thank Officer Jovan Murphy for making our day and stay in Florida well worth the 700 miles that we traveled to get there.
